Jenn Welby Gilbert has run The Giving Project with her students since 2008. The project started as a way to inspire her students to make a difference in their world, while at the same time, providing them the determination and autonomy to grow into self-sufficient members of society. Jenn has always had a passion for service and feels it is her duty to help entrust that passion to the next generation. She works tirelessly to inspire her students and help them grow into creative, inquisitive, self-sufficient young members of society. She is always amazed and impressed by the various programs her students develop a passion for, as well as the various ways they decide to raise funds and supplies for these programs. Over the course of the program, these budding philanthropists have raised a total of $60k.

Jenn has taught first, second and third grades in her 13 years of teaching. Prior to her current position at Gladwyne Elementary School, Jenn also worked at Chester Community Charter School in Chester, PA. Her favorite role, however, is that of “Mom” to her two boys, Brendan and Jameson, as well as her adorable puppy, Prince.

Jenn is eternally grateful to her parents Debbie and Paul who teach her every day about the value of sacrifice, charity and empathy as well as her husband Dave for his boundless support and love.
