Teaching Kindness, Service, Community, and Giving to students around the world

The Giving Project for Children helps families, educators, and schools raise kind, empathetic, socially aware children through meaningful stories, lessons, and experiences.

Drawing on more than twenty years as an elementary educator, Jenn has created a fully implementable philanthropy curriculum that helps children understand giving, service, community, and their ability to make a difference. Originally developed for elementary students, the curriculum continues to grow with resources for older learners.

Jenn has also created original children’s book series inspired by real children, real experiences, and gaps she has identified in classroom curricula. These stories help children understand themselves and others, ask thoughtful questions, practice empathy, advocate for their needs, and become better listeners.

Through videos and classes on YouTube, children can continue learning with engaging lessons, read-alouds, creative projects, and activities designed to bring important ideas to life.

Jenn is also available for professional development workshops and school partnerships. She works with educators and administrators to implement The Giving Project and develop programs tailored to the needs of their communities.

The Giving Project for Children is a registered Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and a recognized 501(c)(3) organization.

I am always so overwhelmed by the incredible work that my students and their families put into their Giving Projects! They truly change the world!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a few of these philanthropists:

My name is Brynne Rhodes. My mission is to prevent or cure Breast Cancer, and to spread awareness about the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  The charity I chose is TheBreast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).  They try to find a way to prevent and cure breast cancer!

To fundraise for my charity I held a bake sale outside of a local Starbucks with a friend I asked to help me.  My Dad is a great baker and he baked a lot of the goodies. That day we raised $160 for BCRF.  I plan to continue until we find a cure. And I have continued fundraising for BCRF through the national campaign I started, The Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge where I spread the word about my mission and try to inspire kids, families, and corporations to make Pink Lemonade stands in their communities and donate the proceeds to BCRF.

As of March 2025, we have raised over $400,000!  We have been featured on the TODAY show with Jenna & Hoda as well as local news stories around the country.  I feel amazing that I am spreading awareness and raising money towards an important cause.  My parents were so proud of me for participating in the Giving Project and so excited to see me speak about my Giving Project experience in front of my classmates and their families!
